Northumbria officer promoted to ACC in Manchester

Northumbria's Chief Superintendent Debbie Ford has just been promoted to become a new Assistant Chief Constable in Manchester.

Debbie has 22 years’ service with Northumbria Police and was most recently Temporary Assistant Chief Constable responsible for crime and operations.

Northumbria Chief Constable Steve Ashman said: "I'm delighted that Debbie has gained this well deserved promotion with Greater Manchester Police. 

"I'm very proud of her achievement and know she will be a real asset to her new force.

"She has had a varied career with Northumbria, has been head of crime, as well as in a variety of uniformed roles at area commands and at headquarter in the Communications Department.

"Debbie has worked her way up through the ranks gaining extensive knowledge and experience throughout her time in the force.

"She will be greatly missed here but I know all at Northumbria wish her all the best in her new job."
