Police have charged three men in connection with a burglary in Lemington.

Around 9.40pm on Monday, May 2, a home in Newburn Road in Throckley was broken into.

The offenders got into the house by smashing the windows in the conservatory and once inside they stole a Suzuki quad bike.

A member of the public reported seeing a number of suspicious men in the area at 9:50pm and after an immediate response by 24/7 officers three men were arrested near to the scene.

Three men have since been charged with burglary and will appear at court in due course. Enquiries to locate the stolen quad are ongoing.

Neighbourhood Inspector Alan Pitchford said: "Three men have been charged with burglary all thanks to a quick thinking member of the public calling us and reporting suspicious behaviour.

"I'd like to thank them for their call and assistance and urge others to do the same. If you see something or someone you aren't sure about then ring us and report it.

"You could be preventing a crime from happening and help us to catch those responsible."
