Update in relation to dog attack in Blyth

Police have arrested a further two people in connection with the incident.

A 34-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of having a dog dangerously out of control.

A 37-year-old woman who was arrested yesterday, (Thursday, May 19), has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Superintendent Mick Paterson, from Northern Area Command, said: "Thankfully these incidents are extremely rare but we recognise that this has been a traumatic incident for those involved, their families and for the wider community.

"The dog remains in a secured kennels at this time. Blyth's local neighbourhood officers continue to speak to those involved and reassure local residents who have any concerns."
