Appeal after collision near Berwick

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision near Berwick, north Northumberland.

Around 2:45pm on Sunday, May 22, two cars were involved in a collision on the B6354 between Duddo and Berwick.

The cars involved were a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a blue Renault Clio.

The 71-year-old male driver of the Clio suffered serious injuries and was taken to the RVI where he remains in a stable condition.

The 72-year-old male driver of the Corsa was also taken to the RVI with potentially life threatening injuries. He remains in a critical condition.

Two passengers who were also travelling in the Corsa  sustained serious injuries and received hospital treatment.

Enquiries are ongoing into the collision and anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 726 22/05/16.

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who might have seen the blue Renault Clio being driven in the Duddo area between 2:30pm and 2:50pm that day.
