Woman injured in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Blyth in Northumberland.

It happened on Tuesday, May 24 between 10.30pm and 10.45pm on Laverock Hall Road.

A 52-year-old woman was walking her dog along the road, which is restricted to bus and emergency vehicles only, when she saw a car being driven along the road. She attempted to stop the vehicle which slowed almost to a stop but then drove towards the woman and struck her causing an injury. The woman fell to the ground and suffered minor injuries. The car then drove off.

Another car in the area stopped and came to the woman's assistance.  Police would also like to speak to these people as they may have information which could assist enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who saw the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 1281 240516.
