Two charged after Newcastle assault

Two people have been charged following an attack on a man in Newcastle.

At 3:21am on Sunday, May 29, police received a report of a fight taking place between three people outside in the street in Howlett Hall Road, Denton Burn.

Officers attended and a 38-year-old man was found inside a property in the street with injuries to his head and body.

It is believed he was assaulted using a hammer.

Michelle Daglish, who is 35 and from Iveagh Close in Newcastle, and Paul Henry Wilkinson, who is 34 and from Mortimer Road in South Shields, were arrested and charged with ABH.

They will appear at Newcastle Crown court in due course.

A 40/42 inch flat screen TV was also stolen from the victim's house in Howlett Hall Road at the time of the incident.
