53-year-old man assaulted in Holmeside bar

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 53-year-old man was assaulted in Sunderland city centre.

The assault happened at 9pm on Saturday, June 4, in Sinatras bar in Holmeside.

The man was assaulted by two men causing him to suffer a broken leg and he is currently in hospital for treatment.

The first offender is described as male, dark skinned or mixed race, aged mid 30s - early 40s, bald head, slim to medium build, 5ft 7 inches tall, wearing a red/cherry coloured puffa jacket, washed out denim jeans and trainers.

The second offender is described as male, white, wearing a white shirt with a blue or black checked pattern.

Officers are carrying out enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.
