Sneak-in purse theft

Police are appealing for witnesses following a sneak-in burglary in Berwick.

It happened between 6pm and 8.15pm on Monday, June 6, in Billendean Road when a thief sneaked into the home of an elderly woman.

They entered via the garden and an unlocked rear door and stole her purse before making off unseen.

The woman then found an undisclosed amount of cash had been withdrawn from her bank using the stolen credit card.

Officers are also advising residents to keep their homes securely locked following this incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact them.
