Man attacked in Newcastle park

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Newcastle.

Around midday on Wednesday, June 8, a 19-year-old man was leaving Summerhill Park when he was approached by two men.

They asked the victim if he had any money and then assaulted him.

The victim suffered a puncture wound to his leg during the attack. He was treated by paramedics before attending the RVI for further treatment.

The attackers are described as -

Male 1: White, mid 20’s, skinny build, tanned skin, 6ft tall with dark brown messy hair 4-5 inches in length. Dark stubble, wearing a plain black t-shirt, dark bottoms.

Male 2: White, 23yrs, athletic build, 5’9"-5’10", short dark brown hair (short back and sides style), wearing a black jacket.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 439 08/06/16
