Pub burgled

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at the Queen's Head pub, Bridge Street in Morpeth.

Officers were called to the pub at 5.17am on Thursday, June 9, following reports of intruders.  Police attended and searched the premises and nearby area. 

They found bundles of lead flashing had been removed from the roof and left in the rear yard.

Following enquiries a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, he is currently detained in custody.

Officers investigating the incident are making house to house enquiries. No entry was gained inside the pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
