Knife incident in North Tyneside

Police are appealing for witnesses following a report of a man being threatened with a knife in North Tyneside.

It happened at Hadrian Road Metro Station at 9.15pm on Saturday, May 7.  A 47-year-old man was on platform one, at the station when he was approached by two males, one threatened him with a knife.  They stole his wallet and mobile phone from his coat and then slashed the coat, damaging it and discarding it, before leaving on a Metro train travelling towards Wallsend.

The offenders are described as; one male aged approximately 17 -years, small build, with white blonde hair, and the second male aged approximately 20-years, with a larger build.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
