Two charged after Gateshead robbery

Two men have been charged in connection with a robbery in Gateshead.
At noon on Friday, July 1, a 22-year-old man was standing outside of the Last Orders public house in Balmoral Drive when he was approached by three men.
They assaulted the victim, punching and kicking him, and stole his cash and damaged his mobile phone.
They then made him get into a vehicle, driving him around for a short while before leaving him in the Carr Hill area of Gateshead a short time later.
We believe that all of the men involved in the incident are all known to each other.
Two men have been charged in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed anything, or anyone with any information, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 466 01/07/16.
Details of the two men charged:
Darren Patterson, 45, of Windsor Gardens in Felling has been charged with robbery, kidnap, two counts of assault and two counts of criminal damage.
Darren David Patterson, 27, of Oxberry Gardens in Felling has been charged with robbery, kidnap, assault and criminal damage.
Both will appear at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court on July 4.
