Man injured after car drives over his foot

Police are appealing for information after a car drove over a 26-year-old man's foot in Sunderland.

The incident happened around 1.30pm on Sunday, June 19, in the car park at Penshaw Monument. A man in a black Ford Focus drove over the victims foot, causing him to suffer a broken foot. He received hospital treatment for the injury.

The vehicle then drove off.

It's believed the driver and other occupants in the vehicle were aware the man's foot had been injured.

Officers are carrying out enquiries to locate the driver of the vehicle and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
