Aggravated burglary in Walker

Police are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Newcastle.

Around 10:30pm on Sunday, July 10, two men broke into a house in Blackwell Avenue in Walker.

They knocked at the door of the property and forced their way inside.

They then sprayed the occupant in the face with an unknown substance before fleeing empty handed.

The victim suffered irritation to his eyes and face but thankfully no serious injury.

The two men are described as being white,  in their early to mid 20s and one of them was around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, had bright ginger medium length hair and spoke with a local accent.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1279 10/07/16.
