Car damaged in hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was damaged in a hit and run in Sunderland.

The incident happened around 1.20pm on Monday, June 6, when the car was waiting at traffic lights near the Queen Alexandra Road. A grey Vectra hit the vehicle before driving off in the direction of Backhouse Park. It's thought the left side of the Vectra would have been damaged by the collision.

The driver of the car that was hit was not injured in the incident.

Officers are carrying out enquiries and are appealing for any witnesses. Anyone with information should contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 531 050616 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
