North Tyneside shop robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following a shop robbery in North Tyneside.

It happened at Booze Buster store, The Boulevard, in Longbenton at approximately 12.40pm on Monday, July 18.

A masked man walked into the store armed with what has been described as an edging tool, and demanded cash.  He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The staff member was shocked but unhurt.

The offender is described as a white man, aged late teens to mid 30s, average height. He was wearing a balaclava and black jacket.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
