Appeal after fatal collision in Gateshead

Police have arrested four men following a fatal collision in Gateshead yesterday morning.
At around 4am on Sunday police received a report that a BMW 3 series had been involved in a collision at the roundabout junction of the Redheugh Bridge and Askew Road West.
A 17-year-old male was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene while two other men were taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Enquiries have been on-going throughout the evening and police have now arrested four men in connection with the incident.
Sergeant Steve Armstrong, of the Operations Department, said: "This is a tragic incident and we are still trying to establish the exact circumstances as to what happened yesterday morning.
"Specialist officers are working closely with his family at this difficult time and we ask that people respect their privacy as our enquiries continue."

Police are appealing for information after a fatal collision in Gateshead.
At around 4am this morning (Sunday) police received a report that a BMW 3 series was on its roof at the roundabout junction of the Redheugh Bridge and Askew Road.
Emergency services attended the scene where sadly one of the occupants was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Two other men were taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Enquiries are on on-going to locate two further people who failed to remain at the scene and who are also believed to have been in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
Police are appealing for help from the public. Anyone who has witnessed this incident or has any information about those involved or saw the vehicle earlier in the morning should contact police on 101 quoting log 308 24/07/16.
