Appeal after incident in Jesmond

Police are appealing for information after an incident in Jesmond.

At 12:40pm on Sunday, July 31, a man approached a 21-year-old woman near to Jesmond swimming baths and made inappropriate comments to her.

He also touched her on her leg and bottom. The woman was left upset by the incident and left the area.

The man is described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and had shoulder length dark hair. He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark trousers. The man spoke with an Italian accent and told the victim he was Italian.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 677 31/07/16.
