Arson to HGVs in Northumberland

Police are appealing for witnesses to an arson in Northumberland.
It happened between 4.30pm and 11.40pm on Tuesday, August 9, when two HGV tipper waggons were deliberately set on fire. The vehicles had been parked unattended at Kiln Cottages, Fourstones in Hexham.
An offender used accelerant to set fire to both vehicles before making off.
The fire service attended and extinguished the fire which caused substantial damage to both vehicles.
Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on bail pending further enquiries.
