Two charged after stabbing in Newcastle

Police have charged two people following a stabbing in Newcastle city centre at the weekend.
In the early hours of Sunday morning a 33-year-old man was stabbed outside Lloyds bank at Haymarket Metro Station.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries and he has been recovering well in hospital.
Three people were arrested in connection with the incident after a number of enquiries by police.
And now two men have been charged in connection.
- Dean Kelvin Jones, 26, of Saltwell Place, Gateshead, has been charged with two counts of robbery and one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
- Sean Paul Kelly, 22, of no fixed abode, has been charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of robbery.
Both men will appear before Newcastle Crown Court on September 19.
