Theft warning after car broken into in High Heaton

Police urge motorists in High Heaton to lock their cars after a theft in the area.

Between 11:55pm Thursday, August 25, and 7am on Friday, August 26, thieves got into an unlocked car parked on a front drive of a house in Teesdale Gardens.

They stole a wallet that had been left inside the car containing cash and cards.

Enquiries are ongoing into the theft and officers are urging residents in High Heaton to make sure their cars are locked overnight and when left parked.

People are also advised to remove all valuables from their cars and not leave anything out on show.
