Man assaulted in Town End Farm

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Sunderland.

It happened on Beatty Avenue in Town End Farm in Sunderland between 3am and 3.30am, in the early hours of Saturday, August 27.

A 22-year-old man was walking home when he was attacked from behind by three unknown men. He was punched to the floor and received kicks to his face causing injuries.

He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital and released following treatment.

The offenders are described as white males:

First, 5 feet 11" tall skinny build, with black hair and a blue polo shirt
Second, 5 feet 6" tall, skinny build wearing a baseball cap, and
Third, 6 feet 2" tall, stocky build, light coloured hair and wearing a grey/blue polo shirt.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
