Police are appealing for witnesses to a one vehicle collision near Humshaugh in Northumberland.

It happened on Sunday, October 2, at 7.27pm, when a Ford Focus was travelling west along the B6318 from Humshaugh and approached the junction with the B6319, when for reasons yet to be established, it left the road and collided with a stone wall.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a 30-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, where he is still receiving treatment, his condition is described as stable.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101, quoting log number 540 of 02/10/16.
