Neighbourhood officers are hosting community drop-in events for Ashington residents.

The invitation comes as police continue to carry out operation Community Pride, where officers contact residents in the town to ask them what local issues they would like police to address. As part of this approach officers are asking local people to get in touch with them if they have any community concerns.

Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Harris said: "The Community Pride initiative is continuing in this area and we know it works well, as we've received positive feedback from residents about the work we've done. Now we're continuing to ask people to get in touch so we can address any other problems they help us identify.

"We host regular community events and we're asking residents to come along and talk to officers. Everyone is welcome and it's a good opportunity to have an informal chat with your local neighbourhood officers.

"You can also hear from us what has been done to tackle the issues in your neighbourhood."

Community events:

Come along to a Cuppa with a Coppa on Saturday, October 22, from 10am to noon at Hirst Park Pavilion, Hirst Park in Ashington.

The next Police And Communities Together (PACT) meeting will be held at Ashington Town Hall on Station Road on Tuesday, November 8, at 6pm.

If you want to speak with an officer but are unable to attend an event please contact your local neighbourhood team on 101 or email and follow us on twitter @NPNAshington
