Motorists are advised of a road closure in Berwick on Wednesday.
At 7.33pm on Friday, September 23, police received a report of a collision involving an Audi car and a combine harvester on the A1167 old A1 Road near Scremerston.
Officers, ambulance staff and fire crews attended the scene and the driver of the Audi was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
On Wednesday, October 19 2016 , police investigating the collision will reattend the scene along with the Collision Investigation Unit to carry out further enquiries. So that officers can carry out their enquiries safely and with minimum disruption to members of the public,
it will be closed from Go Outdoors to the junction with Springhill from 5.30pm. A diversion will be in place from the A1 onto Springhill and back onto the A1167 northbound.
Go Outdoors will remain open and there will be access to Elmbank Caravan Park but this access to the Caravan Park will be for south bound traffic only.
Police will reopen the road as soon as enquiries have been completed however it is anticipated it will remain closed for around three hours and reopen at 8.30pm.
