Indecent exposure in Benton

Police are investigating an incident of indecent exposure in Benton in North Tyneside.

It happened in the grounds of St Bartholomew's Church on Station Road on Saturday, October 15, at 4pm.

An unknown man indecently exposed himself and then walked towards two teenage girls who were in the grounds, before being disturbed by a man and making off.

The offender is described as a white man approximately in his 20s, slim to average build wearing a dark blue anorak with the hood up.

Neighbourhood Inspector Mark Storey said: " We have extra offices in the area carrying out patrols to reassure the community."

The church is in a busy area next to Benton Metro Station and police are appealing for witnesses, including people who may have been going to or from the station, and may have seen the offender.
