Pam Bridges is the new neighbourhood inspector for Tynedale.
Inspector Bridges is an experienced officer who first joined Northumbria Police 26 years ago.
She now manages teams of neighbourhood officers based in East and West Tynedale covering the Prudhoe, Corbridge, Ponteland, Hexham, Haltwhistle and Bellingham areas.
She started her career in Sunderland as a 24/7 response officer and has worked in a variety of roles and area commands across the force including Newcastle, South Tyneside and North Tyneside. In 2008 she became the inspector for the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Forest Hall working with her team to deliver reductions in crime and youth anti-social behaviour before transferring to Wallsend Neighbourhood Team and then back to response policing in 2011. Inspector Bridges has also worked in several headquarters departments including as a force incident manager managing the initial response for critical incidents across the force. More recently she has worked as a neighbourhood inspector in both Cramlington and Killingworth.
Now based at Hexham police station Inspector Bridges said: "I'm really enjoy working as a neighbourhood inspector in Tynedale, getting to know local communities, residents, partner agencies and businesses. To me this is all about increasing public confidence and satisfaction in policing as well as driving down crime and disorder.
"I am particularly keen to ensure vulnerable victims are supported and police deal effectively with issues that are important to our communities here in Northumberland.
"I'm looking forward to getting out and meeting people in both the rural areas and our towns and villages, so if you do see me out and about please stop and introduce yourself."
Inspector Bridges replaces Inspector Kevin Oates who is now a 24/7 response inspector based in Northumberland.
