Counterfeit goods seized in Newcastle operation

Police in Newcastle have seized around £30,000 worth of counterfeit goods during an operation in Elswick.

On Thursday morning, Oct 27, officers from the Newcastle West Neighbourhood Policing Team and Trading Standards executed a warrant at an address in Durham Street.

On searching the house they found around 300 pairs of counterfeit trainers, hundreds of bottles of perfume, around 30 zombie knives and air pistols, counterfeit DVDs and hundreds of Viagra tablets.

A 47-year-old man is being investigated in regards to the offences by police and Trading Standards.

Enquiries are ongoing into the operation.
