Witness appeal after Gateshead burglary

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a burglary in Gateshead.

At 3:35pm on Wednesday, November 2, police received a report that a house in Ryton Willows had been burgled.

The burglars had smashed a patio window, got inside the property and stole a laptop computer, two bikes and a Weimarana puppy.

A neighbour saw two men making off from the scene and gave chase. He managed to get the laptop, one of the bikes and the dog back but the men managed to escape.

Two men, aged 25 and 26, were later arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been bailed.

Enquiries are ongoing into the burglary and officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything or who has any information to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 635 02/11/16
