Arson to hay bales in Holywell

Police are appealing for witnesses after a large number of hay bales were deliberately set on fire in a field in Holywell in Blyth.

It happened at West Field Farm in East Holywell between 3pm and 5pm on Wednesday, October 26.

The 1,100 hay bales valued at £14,000, were stacked up covering an area 13 metres by eight metres and were set on fire and totally destroyed.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police.
