Car stolen and set alight

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was stolen in Morpeth and then set alight .

A red Skoda Fabia car was stolen between noon and 4pm on Sunday, October 30, from outside an address in Grange View in Widdrington. It was subsequently found set alight and burnt out on the Spine Road at Woodhorn roundabout at approximately 4.20pm the same day.

A man was seen to pour liquid into the car and then run off over fields. He is described as a white man in his 20s, slim build wearing a hoody and dark trouser bottoms.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area when the car was stolen or set alight and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police.
