Bus window smashed in Benwell

Police are appealing for information after a bus was damaged in Newcastle.

Around 2pm on Tuesday, November 22, objects were thrown at a bus in the Benwell area of the city.

The objects caused the bus window to smash and a passenger on the bus to be struck by flying glass. Thankfully, they were not seriously injured.

The offender made off from the scene but is described as a being a black male, around 6ft tall and was wearing a balaclava, black jumper and light blue trousers.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police.
