Neighbourhood officers are holding a community drop-in event to celebrate their recent move to a new base in Manor Walks.

Officers from Cramlington Neighbourhood Policing Team will be at the event at Manor Walks Shopping Centre near to the Wilkinsons store from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, December 3.

The team re-located to Manor Walks Shopping Centre a few days ago and now are hosting a 'get to know your local neighbourhood team event', aiming to meet some of the many visitors to the busy centre, as well as staff who are now their new neighbours there.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Michael Kelliher said: "We want to encourage people who live in Cramlington, or are visitors to the town, to come and meet the officers who police their area. Now we've just moved into the shopping centre it seemed a good opportunity to offer people crime prevention advice to help them keep their homes and property safe and to security mark their valuables including bikes and mobiles, especially now in the run up to Christmas when people are busy doing extra shopping.

"We're looking forward to meeting people and talking to them about the work we do in Cramlington to police the local community.

"We can also point out to people where our office is in the centre, so they can call in and speak to an officer, if they need to.

"This type of informal session is a good way for people to meet local officers and seek crime prevention advice or discuss any local policing concerns they may have."

Anyone who has concerns about crime or disorder where they live should contact their local neighbourhood policing team on 101.
