Aggravated burglary in Newcastle

Police are appealing for information after an aggravated burglary in Newcastle.

Between 9:30pm and 10pm on Saturday, December 10, a man in Kenton Lane was opening the front door to his home when he was approached from behind by two men.

They forced him inside the property, threatened him and stole a number of items including mobile phones, watches, jewellery and cash.

The two men had their faces covered and one of them was in his mid to late 20s and was wearing a black jacket.

A witness reported seeing a man in Kenton Lane around 9:30pm and who looked like he was struggling to carry a number of bags. The man then left the bags in the street and ran off towards Creighton Avenue. The bags were found to contain some of the stolen items.

Anyone who has any information into the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area on Saturday, December 10, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1443 10/12/16.
