Man injured in Newcastle collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 42-year-old man was injured in a collision with vehicle when it failed to stop in Newcastle

It happened at 11.38am on Christmas Eve (Saturday, December 24), on Welbeck Road outside Fragrance Florist's shop. The motorist had parked outside the shop and was about to get back inside his vehicle, at his driver's door, when a car drove passed and the wing mirror of the offending vehicle hit him causing bruising to his hip. The victim did not require medical treatment. The car, a black Ford Focus, left the scene without stopping.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area or anyone who may have seen or heard anything relating to the collision is asked to contact police.
