Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were injured in a disturbance in Newcastle.

At 8:06pm on Friday, January 20, police were called to reports that two men had been stabbed in an address in Springfield Road in the Blakelaw area.

The men, aged 36 and 40, were taken to hospital with injuries including stab wounds. They have since received treatment and both have been released from hospital.

Officers believe the men were involved in a fight with a number of other men shortly before 8pm inside the address.  It appears an isolated incident and it is believed that those involved in the incident are known to each other.

Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries in the area and are appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information is asked to ring 101 quoting reference number 1035 20/01/17.
