Bench damaged in Haltwhistle

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of criminal damage in Haltwhistle.

A bench outside the Co-Op on Westgate in the Northumberland town was damaged overnight between 10pm on Saturday, January 7, and 7am on Sunday, January 8.

Offenders threw paint over the bench, which had been donated as a memorial bench, causing damage to it.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police.
