Police are appealing for information after four burglaries in north Newcastle.

Between 6:30pm and 9:45pm on Thursday, February 2, four homes in Great Park, Melton Park and Brunton Park were targeted by burglars.

The houses were in the Ashwood Close, Heathfield Place, Iveston Avenue and Westwood Road areas.

In all of the break-ins the patio doors to the properties were smashed and the offenders entered and searched the houses.

Enquiries remain ongoing to establish what was taken during the burglaries.

Officers are appealing for anyone who might have seen anything or anyone suspicious in the Great Park, Melton Park or Brunton Park areas in the time around the offences.

Police believe there may have been more than one person responsible for the burglaries and they would have been driving around the area checking the front and rear of properties.

Local residents in the areas are asked to be vigilant and share this appeal on any local Facebook pages and community groups.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1068 02/02/17.
