Woman assaulted in Livello

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Newcastle.

Around 11pm on Saturday evening, February 4, a 29-year woman was attacked while in the Livello bar in the city centre.

The victim was with her partner and friends when she became involved in an altercation with another woman after a drink was spilled.

The woman used a glass to strike the victim to the face causing it to smash.  This left the victim with a large wound to the forehead and nose that required stitches. 

The offender is described as being white, in her late 20s to early 30s, around 5ft 5ins tall and of medium build. She had long straight dark hair, which she wore down, quite a lot of make up and dark clothing.

Enquiries are ongoing into the attack and officers are checking for CCTV footage.

Anyone who was in the bar at the time of the attack and who saw what happened is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 29 05/02/17.
