Jewellery stolen in Walker burglaries

Police are appealing for information after two houses were burgled in Walker.

Between 1pm and 6:15pm on Thursday, February 9, a house in Hyperion Way was broken into. The intruders got in through a rear door, searched the property and stole items including car keys and a silver daisy bracelet.

Between the same time period a nearby house in Lysander Drive was also targeted. They again got into the property via the back of the house and stole jewellery and cash.

A Thomas Sabo silver charm bracelet, a pair of Swarovski petal shaped earrings and a Michael Kors silver bracelet were taken.

Enquiries are ongoing into the burglaries and police are urging local residents to be on the look out for anyone suspicious in their neighbourhoods.

Inspector Paul Walters said: "We are investigating these two burglaries and would like to appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the two areas on Thursday daytime to contact us with any information. If anyone saw a person, or people, checking houses or looking in and around houses then please ring us and let us know.

"We will have officers in the area making enquiries today and also speaking to local residents reminding them about crime prevention and ways to protect their homes.

"Make sure doors are locked, house alarms are used and any suspicious behaviour is reported."
