Arson to bins in Shieldfield

Police are appealing for information after an arson in Newcastle.

At 5:30am on Friday, February 17, someone set fire to two commercial recycling bins at the rear of the Ernest cafe in Boyd Street in Shieldfield.

The fire caused substantial damage to the two bins and also the side of the building.

The offender is described as being white, of fat build, balding and was wearing light coloured trousers and a dark jacket.

Enquiries are ongoing into the arson and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 225 17/02/17.
