Man found with injuries in Throckley

Police are appealing for help after a man was found with injuries in Throckley.

Around 3am on Monday, January 23, a 39-year-old man was taken to hospital after being found in the middle of Hexham Road with injuries.

He was taken to the RVI with multiple injuries consistent with being hit by a car but he has no recollection of the incident happening.

The man had been drinking in the Engine Inn pub in Walbottle on Sunday evening and had been making his way back towards Throckley when the incident happened.

Police believe it may have happened near to Walbottle Dene Bridge. At the time the man was found he was wearing a black woolen hat, an army style camouflage jacket and black jogging bottoms.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and anyone with any information that could help police is asked to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 961 310117.
