Appeal after Boots robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Newcastle.

At 12:40pm on Friday, February 24, a man entered the Boots store in West Road armed with a knife.

He approached the till and stole an amount of cash and medication before leaving the store.

No one was hurt but staff were left shaken by the incident.

The offender is described as being white, of stocky build and with a round face. He spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with any information into the robbery is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 456 24/02/17.
