Police are appealing for information after a spate of criminal damage in Newcastle.

An investigation is underway after six motor vehicles were damaged between 4.50pm and 5.03pm on Tuesday, March 1.

The vehicles were parked on Mitchell Avenue in Jesmond when an unknown male kicked the vehicles and caused damage to the wing mirrors.

He is described as white, of medium build, aged in his mid 20s and with facial hair. He was wearing a green hooded top with the hood up and baggy jeans.

The male is believed to have walked down Mitchell Avenue as he caused the damage before turning left onto North Jesmond Road and right onto Bemersyde Drive.

Police enquiries to locate him are ongoing and the local neighbourhood policing team are stepping up patrols in the area.

Officers are also appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who may know the man responsible, to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting log 781 01/03/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
