Man jailed for burglary

A man has been jailed for 28 weeks for burglary at a North Tyneside business.
Connor Sproat aged 19, of Esplanade Avenue in Whitley Bay was convicted of burglary at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 7.
The offence happened at Turknaz Restaurant on North Parade in Whitley Bay in the early hours of Monday, February 27. Sproat gained access to the restaurant, searched the bar area and stole the cash till and alcohol before leaving.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Lisa Henderson said: "We are committed to tackling burglary whether it occurs at businesses or homes in North Tyneside.
"Bringing offenders before the courts remains a priority for us and we will not stop targeting those we believe to be responsible for such crimes which we know causes concern in our communities.
"We want to make sure offenders are caught and face the consequences of their actions."
