Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a building site in Cramlington.

It happened overnight at Bassington Manor in Bassington Lane between 4.45pm on Wednesday, March 15 and 6.45am on Thursday, March 16.

Intruders forced their way into the building compound and searched the area and stole three large plant tools from the site; a Neuson yellow and grey coloured Wacker plate, a Neuson grey coloured Power float and an orange coloured Stihl saw.

These are heavy items and police believed the offenders must have used a vehicle to transport them away from the compound.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who may have seen or heard this crime, and they also want to speak to anyone who may be offered these stolen items for sale.

There may have been dog walkers in the area at the relevant time who may have witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference number 028800P/17 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
