Residents in South Tyneside are being invited to make an online PACT with their local neighbourhood policing team.

On Wednesday, April 5, Harton Neighbourhood Policing Team will host its first ever online police and communities together (PACT) meeting.

PACT meetings are held at locations right in the heart of local communities throughout the year and now police are giving residents the chance to get involved whereever they are.

On Wednesday (April 5), between 7pm and 9pm the team will host a PACT meeting on the Northumbria Police website.

Harton T/Sergeant Victoria River said: "Listening to the concerns of our local communities is really important to us and helps us identify what their priorities are around crime and anti-social behaviour so we can respond to these.

"We reguarly hold PACT meetings for local residents at community venues throughout the area but appreciate people can not always attend them and still want to give them the opportunity to raise their concerns with us.

"The online PACT means they can get in contact with us from the comfort of their own home, or whereever they are, and we would encourage local residents to join in."
