Two businesses burgled in Whitley Bay

Police are appealing for witnesses following two recent burglaries to Whitley Bay businesses.

Offenders forced entry to the Rendezvous Cafe on Dukes Walk in the North Tyneside town overnight between 6pm on Saturday, April 8, and 9.05am on Sunday, April 9. They searched the premises and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and food items from the cafe before making off unseen. Crime reference 338 of 09/04/17.

The second earlier incident happened at SIA Barbers on Cauldwell Lane overnight between 6pm on Wednesday, April 5, and 9am on Thursday April 6. Burglars forced entry via the rear and searched the premises and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving unseen. Crime reference 188 of 06/04/17.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in either of these areas and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact them.
