Play park equipment damaged in Seghill

Police are appealing for witnesses after playground and tennis equipment was deliberately damaged at a park in Northumberland.

It happened at Seghill off Front Street near the Rugby Club between 5pm on Monday, April 3, and 3.23pm on Tuesday, April 4.

Offenders scratched graffiti onto play equipment and tarmac, they damaged the early years play equipment, bending a metal bar on the apparatus, and also damaged a tennis net in the park.

PC Steve McIntosh said: "This mindless damage has caused upset to the community and will cost the council to make the necessary repairs. We're appealing for any witnesses to come froward and help us to find those responsible so they can face the consequences of their actions."

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact them.
