Appeal after burglary at fish and chip shop

Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a fish and chip shop in Newcastle.

At around 10.05pm on Saturday, March 11, police received a report that an unknown male had committed a burglary at The Wretham Plaice shop in the Shieldfield area of the city.

He entered through the front door, lent over the counter and stolen a quantity of cash whilst staff were working in the back of the shop.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and police are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

He is described as white, aged in his 30s and with light brown, shaggy hair. He is believed to have been wearing dark trousers, a checky hoody and carrying a morrisons carrier bag.
